<strong>administrative formalities</strong>, as well as how your admission to the clinic will take place.</li>\n<li>A consultation with the <strong><a href=\"/en/clinic/anaesthesic/\">anaesthetist</a></strong> is always required. They will review your general health and your regular medication with you, and explain how the anaesthesia will be carried out.</li>\n<li>Depending on your case, Dr Roure will prescribe a <strong>treatment</strong>. It should be taken before and after the procedure in order to limit pain and inflammation as much as possible.</li>\n<li>To remain independent and comfortable during your stay and when you leave the clinic, bring <strong>clothes that are easy to put on</strong>, with loose sleeves, and suitable shoes (avoid laces and buckles).</li>\n<li>If a relative or friend is driving you home, <strong>bring a pillow</strong>. It will allow you to rest the operated limb comfortably and limit the discomfort caused by the vibrations of the vehicle.</li>\n<li>Bring the <strong>ice packs</strong> that were prescribed to you. They will be used after the operation for their anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.</li>\n<li>Do not forget to <strong>bring your X-rays</strong>, your test results, your splint and any regular medication.</li>\n<li><strong>Smoking significantly increases the risk of surgical complications</strong>. Stopping smoking 6 to 8 weeks before the procedure eliminates this additional risk.
