- Dr Roure's assistants will explain in detail the various administrative formalities, as well as how your admission to the clinic will take place.
- A consultation with the anaesthetist is always required. They will review your general health and your regular medication with you, and explain how the anaesthesia will be carried out.
- Depending on your case, Dr Roure will prescribe a treatment. It should be taken before and after the procedure in order to limit pain and inflammation as much as possible.
- To remain independent and comfortable during your stay and when you leave the clinic, bring clothes that are easy to put on, with loose sleeves, and suitable shoes (avoid laces and buckles).
- If a relative or friend is driving you home, bring a pillow. It will allow you to rest the operated limb comfortably and limit the discomfort caused by the vibrations of the vehicle.
- Bring the ice packs that were prescribed to you. They will be used after the operation for their anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.
- Do not forget to bring your X-rays, your test results, your splint and any regular medication.
- Smoking significantly increases the risk of surgical complications. Stopping smoking 6 to 8 weeks before the procedure eliminates this additional risk. If you smoke, talk to your doctor or call the French stop-smoking helpline Tabac Info Service on 3989.
